Bud and Alene Barlow started Sheltie Acres in 1992. Bud and Alene had a genuine love for both people and dogs. He and Alene loved running their business together. All who knew him will miss Bud. Alene continued to keep Sheltie Acres going after Buds passing in December of 1997, but the amount of work involved in keeping things going eventually took its toll on her and in the spring of 2002, with her health starting to fail her, she had to step back and let someone else take over for her.

Alenes’ daughter Brenda, and her son-in-law Craig, stepped in to keep things going for her to honor the love Bud and Alene had for shelties.

As well as breeding shelties, we are also a boarding facility for non-aggressive communal dogs. We don’t use kennels or pens so the dogs have the run of most of our house just like they would have when they are at home, there for we are particular about the dogs we will take for boarding.
